The Lab offers a limited number of internships for creative, hardworking and serious undergraduates and graduates interested in performing a variety of tasks related to the general operation of the institution. Internships are offered each semester and school credit is available. PROGRAMS AND MUSEOLOGY INTERNSHIP
WHAT IS IT?
The Programs and Museology Intern assists with the logistics, preparation, set-up, implementation, and evaluation of programs and events. Interns also assist with development and organizational projects, including memberships and database maintenance. Interns will gain an in-depth understanding of educational programming and operations for a small contemporary arts organization.
AM I ELIGLIBLE?
The qualified candidate will:
- Possess a strong interest in museums or contemporary art
- Have attention to detail
- Have ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Be extremely reliable
- Be able to work evenings and occasionally weekends
- Be able to dedicate 10-12 hours weekly to an internship, especially Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
WHAT ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROGRAM?
You gain experience working with every aspect of a small museum, including working with art and artists, development, membership, programming and events. You have access to the entire staff and get to be part of a dynamic new model for a museum. You get college credit.
WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM START?
Fall internships typically start between late August - mid-September. If your schedule does not allow for this timeframe, please let us know. There may be flexibility.
